How do I book with Studio XO? 

The first step is to send Brittany an email at brittany@studioxo.ca. Please include your full name, a message describing your event, the date of your event and services requested. For ease, please use the contact page at studioxo.ca. Brittany will respond to your email within 48 hours. Brittany will then send you either a Bridal Questionnaire or Event Booking Form through HoneyBook. Once filled out and signed, Brittany will prepare your quote in an invoice format along with a formal contract. Once you have signed and returned the contract and paid the corresponding retainer fee, you are booked! Brittany will guide you with any questions you have.

How do I pay the non-refundable, non-transferable retainer? 

Etransfer only to brittany@studioxo.ca. Cash is not preferable as all retainers can therefore be tracked by email. You will receive an email saying the funds have been deposited and you can therefore keep track of when and how much you paid. This eliminates the possibility of confusion.

Is my retainer applied to my total cost?

Yes, your non-refundable, non-transferable retainer is applied to the total cost of your service request. If you cancel, it is lost and cannot be applied to a different event or date. If you decide to not proceed with the booking after your bridal trial, the retainer is not considered towards the bridal trial. This deposit is strictly for holding the date and will be considered towards the full amount due one week before your wedding date.

Am I able to make changes to the invoice/service requests/location?

For weddings, final communication of changes including service requests, location and scheduling are due one month before the wedding date, the final cost is due 7 days before the wedding date. There is some leniency for location and scheduling if in case of an emergency however all services requested are non-negotiable within one month of your event. This means that if you no longer require a service within one month leading up to your wedding date, the cost is still included in the final invoice.

Why is a trial mandatory for a bride?

Trials are to ensure that Studio XO is ready for your big day! We want to know how the makeup will set on your skin for long wear, make haircare and skincare recommendations, and design your wedding day look in a stress free environment. During the trial, we decide on your makeup look,  if you need hair extensions, what curls work best on you, what updo suits your face shape and more! This will save you time on your wedding day and we ultimately want to ensure that your wedding morning is relaxing and stress free. While trials are only mandatory for a bride, we can absolutely accommodate you a trial for your special event as well.

Where do we do the trial?

At Studio XO located in South Edmonton at 1731 Bowness Wynd SW unless you are booked with an alternate XO team member.

The total is due before the wedding, will there be any costs after the wedding day?

There will be an invoice sent to you for any extra services or expenses that were added on your wedding day. This includes extra services, parking expenses or products sold. Any extras can be taken care of in cash or by Etransfer on your wedding day or within 7 days post wedding.

If I don’t purchase a bridal package, do you offer touch ups?

Yes, you can book Brittany to stay with you for touch ups for $100/ hour after your booking end time. This includes both hair and makeup touch ups for you and your bridal party, placement of dresses during photos, or for creating a second look for your reception entrance! This could be to take your hair down from an updo, blush you with evening makeup (darker eye or lip) and/or create a second look for your reception entrance!

Do you travel to us?

Absolutely! Brittany and the XO team are mobile artists! There will be a spot in the contract for your location request. For weddings that are further than 1.5 hours away, we do request that we are put up in a hotel the night before so we can arrive to you on time and rested for your wedding morning! There is a $60.00/hr travel fee for any outside of Edmonton Area City Limits destinations and a $50.00 flat fee within Edmonton Area City Limits. An early morning fee of $150.00 is applicable when travel or arrival begins at or before 7:00am.

How do I provide gratuity?

 If you loved your experience, gratuity is highly appreciated and accepted by cash or Etransfer.

What do I need to have ready for Studio XO?

To ensure that your booking goes smoothly, please make sure we have access to power, low chairs, a full-length mirror, good lighting and a table we can set up on. Kitchens are usually our preference! Brittany will provide you with a client preparation document with all the information!

Destination Wedding (outside of Alberta)?

This is absolutely an option! Please message us for details!

If Brittany is unavailable or if I need a second stylist, does Studio XO offer other stylists?

Yes! Brittany has a team of 10 stylists that work with/for her at weddings and events. If Brittany is already booked for an event, Brit will set you up with a stylist that matches your style! All communication through email would still happen through Brittany! Studio XO has an incredible team of stylists from both Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Studio XO Policies

- No regular booking is confirmed without a non-refundable, non-transferable retainer of 50% of the total cost.

- Minimum of 6-8 services required to book a Friday or Saturday from May - September unless you are an XO Gold Bride. Some exceptions may apply.

- The deposit is due within 3 days of receiving the filled out and signed contract or your booking is not confirmed.

- We do not accept a bride without a trial.

- Travel and parking fees are applied outside of Edmonton Area Limits - $60/hour drive. $50.00 flat travel fee within Edmonton Area City Limits

- Early morning fee of $150 for weddings where the artist is to travel at or arrive at 7:00am or earlier.

- Second stylist fee of $250 if more than 6 services, $500 for destination bookings. This fee covers administration time and work, second stylist product costs and their travel.

- For destination weddings or events, there is a Per Diem cost of $50/day per person for food. All other fees ex. Parking, will be sent in an invoice to be paid within 7 days post wedding.

The second stylist fee of $250 or $500 depending on location however is non-negotiable after the original deposit is paid with a second stylist included.
